30m2
This former house is transformed by an art collective as part of their research on contemporary buildings, the city and the way we inhabit our space. It is now an art installation exploring the limits of domesticity.
There are no glass windows and the inside square space of 30 m2 is united with the square terrace outside into one space. The room can be secured with a shutter and is lit in different shades of blue. There is a bed, a table and chairs available. A fully functioning kitchen unit, a shower and a toilet, all in a row, hide behind curtains of PVC stripes. It can be converted to almost anything as it is designed to cover as many uses as one can imagine.
The space is located in downtown Athens, south of Omonoia square. It has some important buildings nearby, such as the former Municipal Gallery. Koumoundourou square close by is a hangout for immigrant population and the whole neighborhood is a long standing mix of populations.
